Syfy UK Acquires NBC’s Supernatural Drama ‘Midnight, Texas’ From True Blood Author Charlaine Harris
NBC's summer drama Midnight, Texas has found a UK home. Syfy UK has acquired the exclusive UK broadcast rights to the supernatural drama series, which is based on the books by True Blood author Charlaine Harris, after striking a deal with sister company NBCUniversal International Distribution, TVWise has learned. 
Netflix has picked up their hit series 13 Reasons Why for a second season, the streaming service announced on Sunday. The series - which connected with audiences around the globe and caused some controversy due to its depictions of rape, public shaming and suicide - will return with another thirteen episodes in 2018.
The second season of TNT's drama series Animal Kingdom will receive its UK premiere on Amazon Prime Video UK on Wednesday May 31st, it has been announced. New episodes will continue to be made available to UK Prime subscribers every Wednesday, less than 24 hours after they initially air on TNT in the United States.

Wizard Of Oz drama Emerald City, fronted by Vincent D’Onofrio (Marvel's Daredevil), has been cancelled by NBC after a single ten episode season, TVWise has learned. The decision will be something off a blow for the show's UK broadcaster Channel 5, who snapped up the show from NBCUniversal International Distribution last December for their digi-net 5Star.
Hulu has found their George Tenet. The streaming service has set Alec Baldwin (30 Rock, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) as the controversial CIA Director in their upcoming ten episode 9/11 event series The Looming Tower, TVWise has learned. As DCI, Tenet is Richard Clarke's partner in fighting Al-Qaeda, though he may know more than he is letting on.
Netflix UK has acquired Ghost Wars, a new sci-fi drama from Continuum creator Simon Barry which just scored a 13 episode straight-to-series order at Syfy, TVWise has learned. Netflix has also taken rights to the series in all other territories excluding the United States.
