BBC Two Boards Showtime’s New York Times Docu Series ‘The Fourth Estate’

Inside The New York Times: The Fourth Estate has found a UK home. BBC Two has come on-board the four-part Showtime documentary series and will air the fly-on-the-wall look at the paper of record later this month. Before the BBC boarded, it had been expected to go out on this side of the pond on Sky Atlantic due to their output deal with Showtime.

Bryncoed Productions Hires NBCU’s Emma Yap For Development Push

Bryncoed Productions has made the first senior hire since it launched. The indie founded by Foz Allan has brought on former NBCU exec Emma Yap as they embark on a development push. Yap will serve as development producer. She joins the recently launched company after having served as Global Acquisitions Executive for the Hollywood studio. She joined the industry in 2013 after being accepted as a writer on the Royal Court Theatre’s Unheard Voices scheme. She has also held roles at Bankside Films and produced the award-winning feature film Making It.

Joker Productions Hires Julie Link As Managing Director

Indie Joker Productions has hired former Critical Content and Relativity Television executive Julie Link to serve as Managing Director. She succeeds former Managing Director Patrick Ach, who has left the company. As MD of Joker, she will focus on ramping up originals, development, and expanding the global reach of its formats, factual and scripted production and distribution business. Florian Reinhardt, Creative Director, and Julian Lerch, Head of Programs, remain shareholders of the company and lead creatives.
