Comedy Central Play VOD App Launches In The UK

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has launched VOD app Comedy Central Play in the UK as of today (Tuesday July 31st). It comes after VIMN announced back in May that they were teaming with Virgin Media to launch fellow VOD app Nick Play in the UK. Comedy Central Play will give users access Comedy Central’s back-catalogue of short form content, whilst Virgin Media customers will additionally be able to unlock and watch a wide selection of Comedy Central’s full-length episodes on-demand. Popular titles available on the app include The Daily Show, Inside Amy Schumer, Corporate, Takeshi’s Castle, Most Ridiculous and The Roast of Donald Trump.

ITV2 Orders ‘The Stand Up Sketch Show’ For 2019

ITV2 is adding a new comedy show to their 2019 slate. The youth skewing channel has handed out a six episode series order to The Stand Up Sketch Show, a format that combines both both stand-up and sketch comedy.

MTV is turning to royalty for their next reality series. The VIMN backed channel has given the greenlight to The Royal World, a six episode series that will offer an inside look at the lives of young royals and aristocrats from around the globe as their worlds collide in a British countryside mansion.

DRG Sells BBC One’s ‘The Cry’ To Sundance Now Streaming Service

The Cry is crossing the pond. International distributor DRG has pre-sold The Cry, BBC One's upcoming Scotland-set four-part drama starring Jenna Coleman (Victoria) and Ewen Leslie (Top Of The Lake), to AMC Networks' streaming service Sundance Now in the United States.
