Joseph Fiennes Fronted ‘Cyrano’ Leads Atrium TV’s New Drama Slate

Cyrano, a new adaptation of Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac starring Joseph Fiennes, is among four new titles in advanced development at Atrium TV, the "commissioning club" set up last year by Sir Howard Stringer and Jeremy Fox. The slate was unveiled to club members last night in Cannes.

DRG Takes International Distribution Rights To ‘Small Fortune’ Format

International distributor DRG has secured the international distribution rights to the Small Fortune format after striking a deal with production company Youngest Media. With the deal concluded, DRG will now take the format out to the international market place. Youngest Media will distribute the format in Germany, France, Australia and North America; while DRG will handle format sales in the rest of the world.

Months After Cancelling It, Sky One Acquires ‘Agatha Raisin’

Well we've come full circle with Agatha Raisin. Months after Sky One officially cancelled the series, prompting U.S. co-production partner Acorn TV to step up and fully commission a second season, Sky One has pre-bought the UK rights to the new season. The deal was struck between Sky and international distributor All3Media International. Sky has also taken rights to the new season in Eire.

ITV Orders Police Drama ‘Wild Bill’, Rob Lowe To Star

This is an interesting one. ITV has ordered Wild Bill, a six episode police drama about a US cop who comes to the UK to serve as the new Chief Constable of the East Lincolnshire Police Force. Rob Lowe (The West Wing, Code Black) is attached to star.

BBC Picks Up UK Rights To ‘Killing Eve’ Season 2

Following on from the successful launch of season one, the BBC has secured the UK rights to the second season of Phoebe Waller-Bridge's BBC America series Killing Eve from international distributor Endeavor Content. As was the case with season one, the show's second season will air in a linear slot on BBC One and stream as a box-set on BBC Three. Production on season two is now underway ahead of a 2019 premiere.

Following Channel 4/Walter Presents Deal, APC Lines Up Further Sales For Nordic Thriller ‘Alex’

After securing a UK deal with Channel 4 and Walter Presents earlier this year, international distributor About Premium Content has secured a raft of international deals for Nordic thriller Alex. The series has now been sold to ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE. and Polyband in Germany, Amazon Prime Video in France, MHZ in the United States, My Nordic TV in China, Canal + in Poland and Pop TV in Slovenia.

Sony Pictures Television Takes International Distribution Rights To Hulu’s ‘Into The Dark’

Sony Pictures Television has acquired international distribution rights to Into The Dark, Hulu's year-round event series which hails from Blumhouse Television. Into The Dark is a horror anthology series consisting of twelve self contained feature-length episodes that explores the dark side of humanity. The series premiered state-side on October 5th, with an episode set to roll out every month - each inspired by a distinct holiday, often with social commentary woven throughout.
