BBC Three Orders Cosmetic Surgery Debate Series ‘Surgery On Show’

BBC Three has given the green-light to Surgery On Show, a six episode debate series that gives viewers all the facts about Britain’s most talked-about cosmetic procedures. Surgery On Show sees seven people who are considering having the same procedure brought into a studio that has been built around a state-of-the-art surgical theatre. Each joined by an opinionated friend or family member, they'll be given the unique opportunity to watch the procedure being performed right in front of them.

UKTV's W channel has released the trailer for their upcoming original drama Flack, starring Anna Paquin (True Blood), which is set to premiere next month.

DMAX is going free-to-air. The Discovery owned and operated entertainment channel, which has been part of Discovery Networks UK's pay portfolio for more than a decade, will launch on Freeview (channel number 42) and Freesat (channel number 150) on January 16th.

Universal TV Acquires Canadian Thriller ‘Departure’ Starring Archie Panjabi

Universal TV is adding another Canadian drama to their schedule. The NBCU owned and operated channel has acquired the UK rights conspiracy thriller Departure, starring Archie Panjabi (The Good Wife). The six episode series is set to air on Universal TV later this year.

BBC Launches Public Consultation On Plans To Improve iPlayer

The BBC has launched a public consultation on its plans to improve the BBC iPlayer, Per the BBC, they aim to make the VOD service "a destination in its own right, with box sets, live programming and archive titles that champion quality UK content and offer great programmes for longer". Specific proposals include longer windows meaning programmes remain available on the iPlayer for at least 12 months after initial broadcast; making box sets for selected titles available, including said titles' previous seasons; and making more content from the BBC Archive available on iPlayer.
