Back2Back is continuing to staff up. The Brighton based indie has hired Scott McDonald to serve as a Senior Development Producer. He joins the development team, led by Holly Bigsby, where he will focus on bolstering the Back2Back's growing slate of returning brands and franchises. In addition to this executive hire, Back2Back has also secured a greenlight from UKTV’s Dave channel for Mega Air, a sister series to returning franchise Mega Shippers.
Turner has hired Riccardo Donato to serve as Vice-President of Commercial Development for the UK and Nordics. He will be based in London and will report to Turner's Senior Vice-President and General Manager of Northern Europe Pierre Branco. In his new role, Donato will be responsible for maximising revenue as well as identifying and delivering commercial opportunities for all of Turner’s UK and Nordic channels and services.
Comedy Central UK has given the green-light to The Comedy Bus, a six episode travelogue series following six British comedians on a road trip to each of their home towns. The comedians lined up for the show's first season include Joel Dommett, Iain Stirling, Tom Allen, Suzi Ruffell, Darren Harriott and Kiri Pritchard-Mclean. They embark on a journey to each of their hometowns in search of what life is like there now. On what will be a literal trip of their lifetimes, each comedian will act as tour guide for the episode around their own hometown.
HBO's comedy series Camping will receive its UK premiere on Sky Atlantic on Thursday January 31st at 10pm with a double-bill, it has been announced.
Channel 4 has inked a bumper deal with Turner that gives them the exclusive UK rights to the fourth season of Rick & Morty. The agreement also gives the broadcaster rights to hundreds of hours of Adult Swim content. The first three seasons of Rick & Morty will get their free-to-air premiere on E4 from next month, while the show's fourth season will air on Channel 4 later in the year.
BBC Four has ordered a range of shows for their upcoming season on diversity. Said season of programming celebrates "British diversity and explores the secret tribes and communities that have helped shape modern British history."
