BBC Two Orders ‘The Hairy Bikers’ Route 66 Food Travelogue

The Hairy Bikers are returning to the BBC. BBC Two has commissioned The Hairy Bikers Ride Route 66, a six episode food travelogue following Si King and Dave Myers on a road trip across America’s Route 66 - a highway spanning over two thousand miles from Chicago to California. 

DMAX Acquires FTA Rights To ‘BoJack Horseman’

BoJack Horseman is coming to free-to-air. Discovery's DMAX channel, which recently went free-to-air, has inked a deal with Lionsgate to acquire the free-to-air rights to all six seasons of BoJack Horseman. The show's first season will premiere on DMAX on Monday February 25th.

Red Arrow Studios International To Handle Global Sales For UKTV Original ‘Renovate Don’t Relocate’

Red Arrow Studios International has secured the international distribution rights to Renovate Don’t Relocate, which was commissioned last June by UKTV for their free-to-air Really channel. Red Arrow is handling both format and finished tape sales and will launch it at MIPTV in April.

Colin Farrell To Star In BBC Two’s ‘The North Water’

Colin Farrell (Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them, True Detective) has been tapped to star in The North Water, BBC Two's four-part adaptation of the novel by Ian McGuire. He will play Henry Drax. “Colin Farrell will bring a blend of brutality and humanity to Andrew Haigh’s superb adaptation of this savage novel", said the BBC's Controller of Drama Piers Wenger. "The North Water is a brooding and resonant story which is set to grip BBC Two viewers.”

E4 Inks Sony Pictures Television Deal For Future Seasons Of ‘The Goldbergs’, Acquires Spin-Off ‘Schooled’

The Goldbergs is staying put on E4. The Channel 4 owned digi-net has inked a new deal with international distributor Sony Pictures Television and picked up the UK rights to future seasons of the ABC comedy. Additionally, E4 has acquired The Goldbergs' 1990s set spin-off Schooled. The sixth season of The Goldbergs is presently airing on E4 and Schooled will launch on the channel next month.

ITV has set the cast for Sanditon. Rose Williams (Curfew, Changeland), Theo James (The Divergent Series, Downton Abbey), Anne Reid (Last Tango in Halifax, Hold the Sunset) and Kris Marshall (Death in Paradise, Love Actually) have all been cast in the eight episode adaptation of Jane Austen’s unfinished novel that was written only months before her death in 1817.

UKTV’s Alibi Channel Orders Val McDermid Drama ‘Traces’ From Red Production Company

UKTV's Alibi channel has handed out a six episode series order to Traces, an original drama based on an idea by best-selling crime writer Val McDermid which hails from Red Production Company. This marks the first original drama commission for Alibi. Traces explores the world of SIFA, the Scottish Institute of Forensic Science, and follows Emma Hedges, Prof. Sarah Gordon and Prof. Kathy Torrance - who together will use the rigors of forensics to uncover the truth about an unsolved murder case.
