Mainstreet Pictures Developing ‘The Five’ Adaptation, Gwyneth Hughes To Pen Scripts

Mainstreet Pictures has optioned the TV rights to The Five, historian Hallie Rubenhold's untold story of Jack The Ripper's five victims. The indie set up in 2013 by former ITV drama execs Laura Mackie and Sally Haynes has tapped Vanity Fair scribe Gwyneth Hughes to pen the scripts for the TV adaptation.

Channel 4 has released the trailer for their new comedy series Home, which is set to premiere next month.

Cameron Roach Named Sky’s Drama Director, Commissions New Dramas ‘Intergalactic’ & ‘Little Birds’

After serving as Acting Head of Drama since the exit of Anne Mensah, Cameron Roach has been promoted to fill the position on a permanent basis. His official title is Director of Drama and Sky Studios. He will report to Gary Davey, Managing Director of Sky Content. Roach has already commissioned his first two scripted projects as Director of Drama: sci-fi series Intergalactic for Sky One and period drama Little Birds for Sky Atlantic.

Fable Pictures Producing Drama Series About Joan & Jackie Collins

Fable Pictures, the indie backed by Sony Pictures Television, has optioned the TV rights to the life stories of Dame Joan and Jackie Collins, OBE, with plans to produce a six episode drama series exploring their lives. There is presently no UK broadcaster attached to the project. Sony Pictures Television will handle global sales.
