Sheridan Smith Exits Channel 4’s ‘Adult Material’, Hayley Squires Set As New Lead

There's been a change atop Channel 4's porn industry drama Adult Material. Sheridan Smith, who was attached to star when it landed a series order back in 2018, has exited the project and Hayley Squires (I, Daniel Blake) has been set as the new lead. Smith exited due to a scheduling conflict.

DRG Inks Spanish Format Deal For ‘No More Boys And Girls’

No More Boys And Girls is getting a Spanish remake. DRG has closed a format deal with Banijay’s Dlo/Magnolia, who will produce a five-part series for Movistar+. This marks the second format sale after DRG previously set up a German version with ZDF.

BBC One Renews ‘Ghosts’ For Second Season

BBC One has handed out a second season renewal to Ghosts, their new comedy series from the Horrible Histories team of Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond. Ghosts is the highest rated comedy so far this year with a consolidated average audience of 3.7 million viewers.

Red Production Company Options TV Rights To Jess Phillips’ ‘Everywoman: One Woman’s Truth About Speaking The Truth’

Red Production Company has optioned the TV rights to Labour MP Jess Phillips' critically acclaimed book Everywoman: One Woman's Truth About Speaking The Truth. They optioned the rights through a deal brokered by Yasmin McDonald and Laura Macdougall of United Agents. The TV adaptation is being co-developed and will be co-produced by Red Production Company and Lucy Dyke, whose credits include Abi Morgan’s The Split, Black Mirror and Ripper Street. Dyke will serve as executive producer alongside Red's Nicola Shindler.

ITV Releases Trailer For ‘Beecham House’

ITV has released the trailer for their period drama Beecham House, which is set to premiere this summer. From Bend It Like Beckhan co-writer, director and producer Gurinder Chadha, Beecham House is set on the cusp of the 19th century in Delhi and depicts the fortunes of the residents of Beecham House, an imposing mansion surrounded by acres of exotic woods and pristine lawns. Handsome and soulful, former soldier, John Beecham, has acquired the house to start a new life for his family and a business as a trader.
