Yasmin Kaur Barn Joins BBC One’s ‘Shakespeare & Hathaway – Private Investigators’ As Series Regular

Newcomer Yasmin Kaur Barn has joined the cast of BBC One's daytime drama series Shakespeare & Hathaway – Private Investigators as a series regular for its just ordered third season. She will play PC Viola Deacon, a 20-something friend of Sebastian with boundless, puppy-like enthusiasm. Back in 2016, Yasmin Kaur Barn was cast as one of the leads in Fox's pilot Recon, which ultimately did no go to series. She has also appeared in an episode of BBC Three's Man Like Mobeen.

Hugo Speer Returning For ‘Father Brown’ Season 8; Alex Price & Nancy Carroll Also Set To Reprise Roles

After a five year break, Hugo Speer (The Musketeers) is returning to Father Brown. The actor, most recently seen on BBC One in U.S. acquisition London Kills, is set to reprise his role as Chief Inspector Valentine in the show's just announced eighth season. He last appeared in Father Brown's season two premiere back in 2014. Fan favourites Alex Price (Penny Dreadful) and Nancy Carroll (Prime Suspect 1973) are also returning for season eight and will be reprising their roles as Sid Carter and Lady Felicia, respectively.

BBC One Renews ‘Father Brown’ & ‘Shakespeare & Hathaway – Private Investigators’ For Two More Seasons

BBC One is sticking with two of its daytime dramas. The BBC's flagship channel has renewed Father Brown and Shakespeare & Hathaway – Private Investigators for an additional two seasons. Father Brown will return for an eighth and ninth season, while Shakespeare & Hathaway – Private Investigators will be back for a third and fourth season. Said seasons will each consist of ten episodes.

ITV Orders ‘Too Close’ Adaptation, Emily Watson To Star

ITV has ordered Too Close, a three-part adaptation of the novel by Clara Salaman (written under the pen name Natalie Daniels). Emily Watson (A Song For JennyChernobyl) is attached to star. Too Close tells the powerful story of how two women become dangerously close when fate forces them together. Dedicated forensic psychiatrist, Dr Emma Robinson (Watson) is not easily shocked. She’s worked with her fair share of high security patients. Then she’s sent to assess Connie for trial. Connie has a searing insight into Emma’s deepest insecurities and starts to brutally exploit them.

Jason Donovan, Sally Lindsay, Phil Davis & More Join Gold’s ‘Dial M For Middlesbrough’

Gold has rounded out the cast for Dial M For Middlesbrough. Jason Donovan, Sally Lindsay, Joanna Page, Ambreen Razia, John Macmillan, Sheila Reid, Georgie Glen, Annette Crosbie, Phil Davis, Mike Wozniak, Selina Griffiths and Jason Forbes have all signed on to star opposite Johnny Vegas and Sian Gibson in the feature-length follow up to both Murder On The Blackpool Express and Death On The Tyne.

Jenna Coleman, Billy Howle & Ellie Bamber Join BBC One’s ‘The Serpent’

Jenna Coleman (Victoria, Doctor Who), Billy Howle (MotherFatherSon, Dunkirk) and Ellie Bamber (Les Misérables, Nocturnal Animals) have signed on to star opposite Tahar Rahim (The Looming Tower) in BBC One's eight episode Charles Sobhraj limited series. Netflix is co-producing and will serve as the global broadcaster.
