Channel 4 Acquires ‘Buffy’ Spin-Off ‘Angel’ For All 4
Channel 4 has acquired Buffy The Vampire Slayer spin-off Angel for their streaming service All 4 after striking a deal with international distributor Disney. The series will be available to stream on All 4 from Friday September 18th. E4 will also air the series later this year. 
Battlestar Galactica is returning to the UK. The BBC has acquired every episode of the Syfy original series after striking a deal with international distributor NBCUniversal Global Distribution. The series will premiere on the BBC on Saturday September 5th, when every episode will be available to stream on the iPlayer. BBC Two will also begin a linear broadcast of Battlestar Galactica on Saturday September 5th at 9:45pm.
Cold Courage is coming to the UK. BritBox has secured the UK rights to the drama series starring John Simm after striking a deal with international distributor Lionsgate. The series will premiere on the streaming service on Thursday September 3rd. 
UKTV's Alibi channel has secured the UK rights to Canadian drama series Hudson & Rex after striking a deal with international distributor Beta Film. The deal was brokered by UKTV's Acquisitions Manager Charlie Charalambous. The series is expected to premiere on Alibi later this year.
Sky is bringing the spin-offs of two of their existing acquisitions to the UK. Sky Witness has secured the UK rights to Fox's 9-1-1 spin-off 9-1-1: Lone Star and CBS' FBI spin-off FBI: Most Wanted. Both series will premiere on the channel next month.
Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. has lost its UK broadcaster. E4 has opted not to pick up the seventh and final season of the ABC series from international distributor Disney Media Distribution, TVWise has confirmed. Rumours that the series would not be returning to E4 have been circulating for weeks.
In their latest box-set acquisition for All 4, Channel 4 has picked up the streaming rights to all six seasons of the Timothy Olyphant fronted FX drama Justified. Sony Pictures Television handles global sales for the series. It is expected to launch on All 4 later this year.
