Sky1 Acquires UK Rights To ABC’s ‘The Muppets’

Sky1 has secured the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to ABC's reboot of The Muppets after striking a deal with international distributor Disney Media Distribution, TVWise has learned. The show's first season is expected to premiere later this year, shortly after it debuts on ABC in the US.

ABC's Secrets & Lies has found a UK home. UKTV has closed a deal with Disney Media Distribution to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to the drama series for their flagship entertainment channel Watch, TVWise has learned. The show's 10 episode first season will premiere on Watch this September.

Outlander is staying put on Amazon. Amazon Prime Instant Video UK has picked up exclusive rights to further seasons of the Starz period drama after extending their licensing deal with international distributor Sony Pictures Television. The show's second season will premiere on Amazon in the UK in 2016, with episodes being made available to stream within 24 hours of their initial broadcast on Starz.
