FOX UK Acquires Donald Glover’s FX Comedy Series ‘Atlanta’

Donald Glover's new comedy series has found a UK home. FOX has acquired the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to the former Community star's FX series Atlanta after striking a deal with sister company Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution, TVWise has learned. The ten episode first season of Atlanta is set to premiere on FOX UK in November.

Amazon Prime Video Acquires UK Rights To Starz’s ‘American Gods’

Starz's American Gods adaptation has found a UK home. Amazon Prime Video has secured the exclusive UK rights to the series after striking a deal with FremantleMedia International, TVWise has learned. The streaming service has also acquired rights to American Gods in Austria, Germany and Japan.

In a deal with sister company NBCUniversal International Distribution, Syfy UK has snapped up the first run rights to Hunters - the short-lived drama series from The Walking Dead executive producer Gale Anne Hurd. The series will premiere on Syfy UK on Wednesday August 31st at 9pm.

E4 Drops Mindy Kaling Comedy Series ‘The Mindy Project’

The Mindy Project has lost its UK broadcaster. E4, who originally acquired the Fox turned Hulu comedy in 2012 in a multi-season deal with international distributor NBCUniversal International Distribution, has opted not to pick up the any further seasons of the Mindy Kaling fronted series, TVWise has confirmed. The channel aired the first three seasons between 2013 and 2015.

Netflix has acquired the exclusive UK rights to CBS All Access' new Star Trek series, from CBS Television Studios and Bryan Fuller, after striking a wide-ranging deal with international distributor CBS Studios International, TVWise has learned. Episodes will be available to stream on Netflix UK less than 24 hours after they air in the United States.
