Movies 24 Picks Up UK Rights To ‘Date My Dad’
Movies 24 is adding a comedy to their line-up. The NBCU owned and operated channel has secured the UK rights to UP TV's comedy series Date My Dad, starring Barry Watson and Raquel Welch. The ten episode series - which is distributed internationally by Content Media and Palatin Media - will premiere on Sunday April 29th at 5pm with a double-bill. 
Universal Channel has sealed a deal with Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to Fox's Matt Czuchry (The Good Wife) and Emily VanCamp (Revenge) fronted medical drama The Resident. The series is presently eyed for an April premiere. 
5USA is adding two U.S. scripted dramas to their slate. The Channel 5 owned digi-net has agreed separate deals with Warner Bros. International Television Distribution and NBCUniversal Television Distribution for first run rights to CBS' short-lived Training Day reboot and free-to-air rights to NBC's Taken prequel series.
Amazon Prime Video UK has struck a deal with NBCUniversal International Distribution to secure the exclusive UK rights to Freeform's drama series The Bold Type. The series will premiere on this side of the pond on Friday February 9th.
Universal Channel's acquisition Chance, starring Hugh Laurie (House), has been cancelled by U.S. streaming service Hulu after two seasons.
Universal Channel is adding a second Canadian import to their line-up. The NBCU backed channel has secured the exclusive UK rights to CTV's mystery series The Disappearance. NBCUniversal International Studios handles international distribution. The show's six episode first season will premiere on Universal Channel on Tuesday February 27th at 9pm, with a double-bill.
5Spike (formerly known simply as Spike) has picked up the UK rights to History's SEAL Team drama series Six after striking a deal with international distributor A+E Networks. The eight episode first season is set to premiere on the channel in early 2018.
