UPDATE: ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Spin-Off ‘Short Treks’ Now Available On Netflix UK

The latest incarnation of the Star Trek franchise is not coming to the UK (at least for now). I've learned that Netflix UK has opted not to pick up Star Trek: Short Treks, a new four episode short-form off-shoot of Star Trek: Discovery. A representative for the streaming service confirmed that they will not be distributing the series, which launches state-side on October 4th.

5USA Acquires Eric McCormack Fronted Procedural ‘Perception’

5USA is adding another procedural to their line-up. The Channel 5 owned and operated dig-net has acquired the former TNT procedural Perception, starring Will & Grace's Eric McCormack, after striking a deal with international distributor Disney Media Distribution.

Amazon Prime Video Acquires UK Rights To NBC’s ‘New Amsterdam’

Amazon Prime Video UK has secured the UK rights to New Amsterdam after striking a deal with international distributor NBCUniversal International Distribution. The show's first thirteen episodes will be available to stream as of Friday February 8th, with new episodes then being made available to UK Prime subscribers every Wednesday - less than 24 hours after they air state-side.

Alibi Acquires UK Rights To ‘Bite Club’, Eyes February Premiere

Universal TV is adding another Canadian drama to their schedule. The NBCU owned and operated channel has acquired the UK rights conspiracy thriller Departure, starring Archie Panjabi (The Good Wife). The six episode series is set to air on Universal TV later this year.

StarzPlay Acquires UK Rights To ‘Harlots’ Months After It Was Dropped By ITV

More than three months after TVWise broke the news that ITV would not be airing future seasons of Harlots following the closure of ITV Encore, the series has found a new UK home. StarzPlay – which is available in the UK on Amazon Prime via Amazon Channels – has secured the exclusive UK rights to the period drama after striking a deal with international distributor ITV Studios Global Entertainment. The first season, which aired on ITV Encore back in 2017, will launch on the streaming service on Friday January 18th, while the show's second season, which has never aired in the UK before, will launch on Thursday February 14th.

All 4 Acquires ’30 Rock’ In Deal With NBCU, Bringing Season 7 To UK For First Time

Channel 4 has agreed a deal with NBCUniversal International Distribution to acquire all seven seasons of NBC's cult comedy 30 Rock, created by Tina Fey, for All 4. The show's first two seasons are available on the VOD service as of today, while the remaining seasons will arrive "at a later date."

E4 Picks Up UK Rights To ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Season 6, Eyes 2019 Premiere

Brooklyn Nine-Nine may be switching networks state-side, but it is staying put in its long-time UK home. E4 has inked a new deal with international distributor NBCUniversal International Distribution to pick up the exclusive UK rights to the show's eighteen episode sixth season. While a firm premiere date has not yet been set, E4 said it would premiere in 2019.
