UKTV’s Alibi Channel Acquires ‘I Am The Night’ & ‘Waco’

Alibi has picked up two new U.S. acquisitions. The UKTV owned and operated channel has struck deals with WarnerMedia and Endeavor Content for TNT's I Am The Night and Paramount Network's Waco, respectively. Both series will premiere on Alibi later this year. UKTV's Head of Acquisitions brokered both licensing agreements with WarnerMedia and Endeavor Content.

Amazon Prime Video UK Acquires ‘Star Trek’ Picard Series

In what is surely a blow to their rival Netflix, Amazon Prime Video UK has secured exclusive rights to the as-yet untitled Star Trek series starring Sir Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard. The acquisition is part of a multi-year deal between Amazon and CBS Studios International that will see the streaming service serve as the series' broadcaster in more than 200 territories. Episodes will be available to stream within 24 hours of their U.S. broadcast.

StarzPlay Acquires UK Rights To Hulu’s ‘The Act’, Sets June Premiere

StarzPlay – the Starz owned streaming service that is now available on both Amazon Prime Video Channels and Virgin Media – has picked up the UK rights to Hulu's true-crime anthology drama The Act after striking a deal with NBCUniversal International Distribution. The series will premiere on Friday June 14th.

My5 Picks Up UK Rights To ‘Being Mary Jane’ Finale, Sets Premiere For May 1st

Channel 5's VOD service My5 has picked up the exclusive UK rights to the two-hour Being Mary Jane finale. International rights to the series, which previously aired on this side of the pond on BET International, are controlled by Channel 5's parent company Viacom. The two-hour finale, as well as the previous four seasons of the show, will be available on My5 from Wednesday May 1st.

Channel 5 Acquires Sony Crackle’s ‘The Oath’ For VOD Service My5

Channel 5 has acquired the UK rights to Sony Crackle's original drama series The Oath for their VOD service My5 after striking a deal with international distributor Sony Pictures Television. The acquisition was part of a two-series deal with Sony that, as TVWise previously reported, also gives My5 UK rights to Australian drama BloomThe Oath is expected to premiere this spring.

Lily Collins To Star In ‘Emily In Paris’, Paramount Network Picks Up UK Rights

Lily Collins (The Last Tycoon, Les Misérables) has been set as the lead in Emily In Paris, Paramount Network's new dramedy series from Sex & The City and Younger creator Darren Star. Originally commissioned for the U.S. network, Paramount Network International has since boarded Emily In Paris and will air the series on their Paramount Network branded channels in more than 100 territories - including the UK.

FOX UK Drops Australian Drama ‘Jack Irish’

EXCLUSIVE: It seems it's the end of the road for Jack Irish here in the UK. FOX UK has dropped the Australian drama after airing the TV movies and the first season of the TV series, both of which starred Guy Pearce. A representative of the channel confirmed to TVWise that they don't have any plans to air the second season.
