Sony Channel Acquires UK Rights To NBC’s ‘Days Of Our Lives’

Days Of Our Lives is returning to the UK. Sony Channel has acquired the UK rights to NBC’s longest-running drama series in a deal with corporate sibling Sony Pictures Television.

Sony Channel is picking up the UK broadcast of Days Of Our Lives with the show’s fifty-third season. The UK premiere date has been set for Monday January 20th at 9:10am, with episodes then continuing to air on weekdays in the same time-slot.

Days Of Our Lives is set in the fictitious Midwestern town of Salem. The core families are the Bradys, the Hortons, and the DiMeras, and the multi-layered storylines involve elements of romance, adventure, mystery, comedy and drama. The drama series, which is currently airing its 55th season in the United States, is produced by Corday Productions Inc. in association with Sony Pictures Television. Ken Corday serves as the executive producer with Greg Meng and Albert Alarr serving as co-executive producers. Ron Carlivati is the head writer.

The first episode being broadcast by Sony Channel in the New Year is #13246, which originally aired state-side in December 2017. Here is the synopsis: “At Chad and Abigail DiMera’s New Year’s Eve party some couples get closer: Jennifer Horton and Eric Brady; Kate Roberts and Andre DiMera while others have complications: Sonny and Will after a chance encounter with Sonny’s ex-husband, Paul.  Meanwhile, Brady Black and Eve Donovan, sneak into the party, so Eve can try to woo Gabi to join their rival business. A mysterious couple gets ready to attend the party. Later, couples kiss as the year closes out… and the mystery woman reveals herself to all… it’s Vivian Alamain”.
