BBC One Sets Premiere Date For ‘Mimi And The Mountain Dragon’

Mimi And The Mountain Dragon will premiere on BBC One on Boxing Day (Thursday December 26th) at 3:20pm, it has been announced.

Mimi And The Mountain Dragon is a story about a village that quakes in fear of the mighty Mountain Dragon. One winter, a shy little girl called Mimi finds a tiny baby dragon asleep in her family woodshed. Mimi takes the perilous journey through blizzard and darkness to return the baby dragon to her mother who all the villagers fear.

The twenty-five minute 2D animated special is based on Sir Michael Morpurgo’s children’s book. The animation is based on the original illustrations by Emily Gravett and it was adapted for television by Owen Sheers. It will have an introduction from Sir Michael Morpurgo and will be narrated through classical music in an original score written by Rachel Portman. Leopard Pictures and Factory Create are producing, with Kristian Smith and Phil Chalk serving as the executive producers.
