The sixth and final season of Madam Secretary will receive its UK premiere on Sky Witness on Thursday December 5th at 10pm, it has been announced.
Created by Barbara Hall, Madam Secretary follows the personal and professional life of maverick female Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord as she drives international diplomacy, wrangles office politics and balances a complex family life. The drama is produced by CBS Television Studios and stars Téa Leoni, Tim Daly, Zeljko Ivanek, Patina Miller, Erich Bergen, Kevin Rahm and Wallis Currie Wood.
Season six picks up several months after the events of the season five finale, in which Elizabeth McCord resigned as Secretary of State to launch her bid for the White House, and sees her now serving as the President of the United States. In the season premiere, titled Hail To The Chief, Elizabeth must fend off a baseless investigation into her past that threatens to derail the first major legislation of her presidency. Also, First Gentleman Henry squirms after his appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (guest star Stephen Colbert) results in heightened scrutiny of the romance in the First Couple’s marriage.
