Sky One’s new political thriller COBRA will premiere on Friday January 17th at 9pm, it has been announced. Alongside announcing the premiere date, Sky One has also released a trailer and several first-look images.
COBRA deals with an unfolding national emergency that threatens to engulf the country as the COBRA committee – a team comprised of Britain’s leading experts, crisis contingency planners and most senior politicians – fights to ensure the protection of the people of Great Britain Prime Minister Robert Sutherland, his Chief of Staff Anna Marshall, Contingency Planner Fraser Walker and Home Secretary Archie Glover-Morgan must contend with impossible political decisions, whilst also wrestling with ferociously pressured personal lives.
The six episode drama series, which was penned by Ben Richards, is produced by New Pictures and stars Robert Carlyle (Stargate Universe, Once Upon A Time), Victoria Hamilton (The Crown, Deep State), Richard Dormer (Game of Thrones, Fortitude), David Haig (Killing Eve, Penny Dreadful), Marsha Thomason (Better Things, White Collar) and Lucy Cohu (Broadchurch, Forgiven). Joe Donaldson is the series producer, while Hans Herbots and Al Mackay are the directors. The executive producers are Charlie Pattinson, Ben Richards, Jonathan Young and Nicola Larder.
