Disney’s new streaming service now has a confirmed UK launch date. The company has announced that Disney+ will be launching across Western Europe (including the UK) on March 31st. The subscription cost for the UK market has not yet been revealed.
The streaming service will be the UK home to numerous Disney+ originals including Star Wars live-action series The Mandalorian, High School Musical The Musical: The Series, several new Marvel series, an Untitled Obi Wan Kenobi series, an Untitled Rogue One Prequel series, Monsters Inc. sequel Monsters At Work and more.
That said, the exact nature of the library content that Disney+ UK will have is very much TBD. Disney’s existing deals may prevent the streamer from offering several titles that are set to be a key part of the US offering. Most notable would be Disney features and The Simpsons, both of which are tied up presently by existing deals with Sky.
