UPDATE, November 11th: Channel 4 is tweaking their launch plans for Rick & Morty. Rather than the previously announced January 2020 launch date, the show’s fourth season will now premiere on E4 on Wednesday November 20th at 10pm.
“When we announced we would be airing Rick and Morty Series 4 on free to air TV in January we thought fans would be delighted”, said Channel 4’s Director of Programmes Ian Katz. “Instead they told us – in their droves – that it wasn’t nearly soon enough, so we’ve listened and brought forward the UK premiere to November 20th on E4 and All 4. Enjoy!”
PREVIOUS, November 7th: Thanks to their existing content partnership with Adult Swim, Channel 4 has picked up the UK rights to the fourth season of Rick & Morty. Season four will air in two distinct parts, consisting of five episodes each. Episodes will initially air on Channel 4 in January 2020, ahead of a repeat window on E4. They will also be available to stream on All 4.
“Millions of fans have been waiting for more than two years for a new series of Rick and Morty, the most brilliantly bonkers show on television”, said Channel 4’s Director of Programmes Ian Katz. “We’re thrilled that it will be aired exclusively on Channel 4 and I promise it will be worth the wait.”
From Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, Rick & Morty follows the misadventures of alcoholic scientist Rick and his easily influenced grandson Morty, who split their time between domestic family life and interdimensional travel. The series is produced by Starburns Industries and features the voices of Justin Roiland, Sarah Chalke, Chris Parnell and Spencer Grammer.
