Gold Digger will premiere on BBC One on Tuesday November 12th at 9pm, it has been announced.
Gold Digger tells the story of wealthy 60 year old Julia Day as she falls in love with Benjamin, a man 26 years her junior. As the series progresses the impact their unconventional relationship has on her family is explored and the secrets of their past are revealed. Has Julia finally found the happiness she’s always deserved? Or is Benjamin really the gold digger they think he is?
The six episode drama series, which was created by Thriteen scribe Marnie Dickens, is produced by Mainstreet Pictures and stars Julia Ormond (Mad Men, Incorporated), Ben Barnes (Westworld, Marvel’s The Punisher),Nikki Amuka-Bird (NW, Hard Sun), Alex Jennings (Unforgotten, The Crown), Julia McKenzie (Agatha Christie’s Marple), Sebastian Armesto (Poldark, Broadchurch), Jemima Rooper (Lost in Austen, Trauma) and Archie Renaux (Hanna, Morbius). Tim Bradley is the series producer, while Vanessa Caswill directed the first three episodes. The executive producers are Laura Mackie and Sally Haynes for Mainstreet Pictures, Elizabeth Kilgarriff for BBC One and Marnie Dickens.
