TV Land’s Sutton Foster fronted comedy series Younger will premiere on Comedy Central UK on Monday October 28th at 9pm with a double-bill, it has been announced.
Created by Darren Starr, Younger follows Liza, a 40-year old woman who pretends to be 26 in order to get a job in the highly competitive world of publishing – and succeeds. Now working under the prickly Diana, Liza has to figure out how to balance her real life with bestie Maggie, and her “pretend” life with new friend and coworker Kelsey…all while embarking on an exciting and somewhat confusing relationship with sexy tattoo artist Josh. The comedy series stars Sutton Foster (Bunheads), Hilary Duff (Lizzie McGuire), Debi Mazar (Entourage), Miriam Shor (GCB) and Nico Tortorella (The Following).
The first two seasons of Younger previously aired in the UK on Sony Entertainment Television (later known as Sony Channel), before they moved away from first run acquisitions when they rebranded as Sony Crime Channel. Comedy Central UK acquired all six seasons of the show earlier this year in a deal with Endemol Shine International. “Younger is a delightful mix of comedy, drama and romance that is sure to become a firm favourite with Comedy Central viewers”, said Louise Holmes, Vice President and General Manager of Comedy Central UK. “The show has gone from strength to strength on Viacom’s TV Land in the U.S. and we can’t wait to bring all six seasons to Comedy Central’s viewers here in the UK from this autumn.”
