BBC One has released two first look images of Claes Bang in character as the eponymous character from their upcoming Dracula series from Sherlock co-creators Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat.
Dracula is a new take on the classic Bram Stoker novel and will re-introduce the world to Dracula (Bang), the vampire who made evil sexy. In Transylvania in 1897, the blood-drinking Count is drawing his plans against Victorian London. And be warned: the dead travel fast.
In addition to Claes Bang, the cast also includes John Heffernan (Brexit), Joanna Scanlan (Puppy Love), Dolly Wells (Blunt Talk), Morfydd Clark (Arthur & George), Mark Gatiss (Game Of Thrones), Lujza Richter, Lyndsey Marshal (Trauma), Chanel Cresswell (This Is England), Matthew Beard (The Imitation Game), Lydia West (Years & Years), Paul Brennen (Happy Valley), Sarah Niles (Beautiful People), Sofia Oxenham (Poldark), John McCrea (God’s Own Country), Phil Dunster (Save Me) and Millicent Wong.
The show’s first season will consist of three feature-length episodes. Netflix is on board as a co-producer and will serve as the global broadcaster for the series (excluding the UK & Ireland). Hartswood Films are producing, with co-creators Moffat and Gatiss penning the scripts. The executive producers are Mark Gatiss, Steven Moffat and Sue Vertue for Hartswood Films, Ben Irving for BBC and Larry Tanz and Carolyn Newman for Netflix. The directors are Jonny Campbell, Damon Thomas and Paul McGuigan. Production began earlier this year at Orava Castle in Slovakia, before moving to England at Bray Studios,
