BBC Two has ordered Lose Weight & Get Fit, a six episode weight loss series fronted by chef Tom Kerridge. This marks Kerridge’s third series for BBC Two after Lose Weight For Good and Fresh Start. Lose Weight & Get Fit With Tom Kerridge is set to premiere in early 2020.
The series sees Tom Kerridge return to Gloucester, the city he grew up in. Tom and his gang of 11 volunteers have just two months to shed the pounds, get fit and transform their cooking and exercise habits for good. And this time round, Tom faces his stiffest challenge yet: himself.
Lose Weight & Get Fit With Tom Kerridge was commissioned by BBC Two Controller Patrick Holland and the BBC’s Head of Commissioning for Popular Factual and Factual Entertainment David Brindley. The series is being produced by Bone Soup, with Richard Bowron serving as the executive producer. The BBC Commissioning Editor is Michael Jochnowitz.
“Tom is a special talent whose previous series inspired families across the UK”, said BBC Two Controller Patrick Holland. “I’m delighted that he’s returning to BBC Two in the new year with this great new show about food and health.”
While Tom Kerridge added:“I lost a load of weight a few years ago but lately I’ve seen it creeping back up. And I’m not as fit as I want to be at my age. So I’ve set myself and a gang of volunteers a challenge – to lose weight and get fit together.”
