BBC Three has renewed their comedy sketch show Famalam for a third season. Additionally, the channel has ordered a Christmas special to air later this year.
“Going for a three-peat! Excited to bring this beast back for another side splitting run!”, said writer and producer Akemnji Ndifornyen. “Third time’s the charm!”
Famalam is described as a comedy sketch show where no area of the universe is off limits. The series, which began its life as a New On Two comedy pilot before scoring a series order at BBC Three (with repeat slots on BBC Two and BBC One), is produced by BBC Studios. Tom Marshall is the director, while Ben Caudwell is the executive producer.
“Famalam goes from strength to strength in keeping the modern day sketch show flag flying high with its super-talented cast, pin sharp social commentary and ideas that poke fun in all directions”, said the BBC’s Controller of Comedy Commissioning Shane Allen, who commissioned the third season alongside BBC Three Controller Fiona Campbell.
