Arienne Mandi (Baja), Leo Sheng (Adam), Jacqueline Toboni (Easy) and Rosanny Zayas (Orange is the New Black) have joined the cast of Showtime’s The L Word sequel series The L Word: Generation Q as series regulars.
They join original stars Jennifer Beals, Katherine Moennig and Leisha Hailey who are reprising their roles in the new series. The L Word: Generation Q continues to follow the intermingled lives of Bette Porter, Alice Pieszecki and Shane McCutcheon, along with new characters as they experience love, heartbreak, sex, setbacks and success in L.A. Eight episodes have been ordered for the show’s first season, which starts filming this summer in Los Angeles.
Arienne Mandi has been cast as Dani Nùñez, a powerful and calculating PR executive whose ambition is only tested by her conscience; Leo Sheng as Micah Lee, an earnest, soft-spoken adjunct professor who is forced to confront his fear of vulnerability; Jacqueline Toboni as Sarah Finley, a charming but unfocused assistant who struggles to reconcile her sexual orientation with her religious upbringing; and Rosanny Zayas as Sophie Suarez, a TV producer who guards her heart and is quick to put other people’s needs before her own.
