BBC Two has handed out a four episode series order to The Mind Of Herbert Clunkerdunk, after initially piloting the short-form project last year via Comedy Shorts.
The Mind Of Herbert Clunkerdunk follows the titular character as he navigates his way through everyday life only to be constantly interrupted by his quirky imagination. The series stars Spencer Jones, Dom Coleman and Lucy Pearman.
“To be given a full series for the BBC is one of my ultimate dreams come true. I was so chuffed to get it. However, that feeling has now slowly faded away and I’m absolutely bricking it. But I’m going to use the fear to push me to make this the best thing it can be”, Spencer Jones said. “I’ve got a brilliant team of highly skilled people around me, so if Clunkerdunk ain’t ‘the nuts’, then I can safely say it is completely my fault. How terrifying.”
The Mind Of Herbert Clunkerdunk was created by Spencer Jones and is produced for BBC Two by Tiger Aspect Productions. David Simpson is the series producer. The executive producers are Myfanwy Moore and Spencer Jones. The director is Martin Stirling. The series was commissioned by the BBC’s Controller of Comedy Commissioning Shane Allen. The Commissioning Editor for the BBC is Kate Daughton. Filming is set to get underway in June.
