StarzPlay – the streaming service owned by US premium cable network Starz – is now available on Apple TV. The launch on the platform comes after StarzPlay initially launched on the UK on Amazon Prime Video Channels, before rolling out on Virgin Media.
The service is envisioned as the home for the Starz brand, and holds exclusive UK rights to several of the premium cable networks original series including the Counterpart, Sweetbitter, Vida, Now Apocalypse and The Spanish Princess – all of which are made available on the same day as they air state-side. The streaming service is also the exclusive UK home to Mr. Mercedes, Castle Rock, Harlots and The Act.
In addition to StarzPlay’s UK expansion, the service is also now available on Apple TV in territories across Europe and Latin America, including France, Germany, Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and Colombia. The expansion, combined with with the existing territories covered by the StarzPlay Arabia platform throughout the Middle East and Africa, means that by July 1, StarzPlay will be available in 51 countries worldwide.
