The fifth season of ABC’s comedy series Black-ish will receive its UK premiere on E4 on Monday June 10th at 7:30pm, and will then continue to air on weekdays in the same time-slot, it has been announced.

Black-ish follows Andre ‘Dre’ Johnson, an upper-middle class black man who struggles to raise his children with a sense of cultural identity despite constant contradictions and obstacles. The comedy is produced by ABC Studios and stars Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross, Laurence Fishburne, Yara Shahidi, Marcus Scribner, Miles Brown, Marsai Martin, Jenifer Lewis, Peter Mackenzie and Deon Cole.

In the opening episode of the show’s fifth season, titled Gap Year, after dropping Junior off at college, Dre and Bow are beside themselves when they find him back at home announcing his decision to take a gap year. Meanwhile, Jack and Diane begin to question whether they should still be sharing a room. Gail Lerner directs from a script by Doug Hall. ABC recently renewed Black-ish for a sixth season.
