'John Bishop's Ireland' Gets Series Order At ITV – TVWise

Travelogue John Bishop’s Ireland has been picked up to series at ITV with a four episode order. The series follows comedian John Bishop on a 600 mile road trip around the Emerald Isle.
John’s Bishop’s Ireland sees him take a deep dive into Irish culture. It’s a rollicking and hilarious voyage that will not only follow John discovering iconic sights and quirky customs, but will also see him perform his comedy along the way, from a small and cramped gig in a Limerick pub, through to the biggest stage in all of Ireland.
Ireland means a huge amount to the comedian. It was whilst gigging the small clubs and bars there that he decided to quit his job in pharmaceuticals and give stand-up comedy a proper go – a decision that changed his life beyond recognition. “Ireland holds a very special place in my heart and always has done, even before I started stand-up comedy, Bishop said. “So to have the opportunity to travel around, meet local people, make them laugh and experience new things along the way has been a total joy.”
The four-part series is produced by Lola Entertainment, Twofour and Moondog Productions It was commissioned by ITV’s Head of Entertainment Commissioning Siobhan Greene and ITV’s Commissioning Editor for Entertainment Ben Kelly. The executive producers are John Bishop, Lisa Thomas, Mel Leach, Andrew Mackenzie and Jackie Hamilton.
