UKTV's Alibi Channel Acquires 'Ms Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries' – TVWise

After airing all three season of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, UKTV’s Alibi channel has acquired the UK rights to the Geraldine Hakewill (Wanted) fronted spin-off Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries after striking a deal with All3Media International. The 1960s-set series will premiere on Alibi on Wednesday April 10th at 9pm.
Ms Fisher’s Modern Mysteries is set in 1964 and follows Peregrine Fisher inherits a windfall when the famous aunt she never knew, Phryne Fisher, goes missing over the highlands of New Guinea. Peregrine sets out to become a world-class private detective in her own right with the unerring guidance of The Adventuresses’ Club, a group of exceptional women of which her celebrated aunt was a member.
A natural rule breaker, Peregrine is fearless, fun, and charmingly down-to-earth, as well as having a keen instinct for solving crimes. With newfound wealth and The Adventuresses to hone her rough edges and become the family she’s never had, Peregrine is unstoppable. The drama series is produced by Every Cloud Productions with the assistance of Screen Australia and Film Victoria and stars Geraldine Hakewill, Joel Jackson and Catherine McClements.
Alibi first acquired the parent series Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, starring Essie Davis, in a deal with All3Media International back in 2012 and aired all three seasons between 2012 and 2015. While that series ended after its third season, a feature film titled Miss Fisher And The Crypt Of Tears featuring Davis and several member of the original cast has been green-lit and is set to be released later this year. It follows Phryne Fisher on a Middle Eastern adventure in search of an ancient treasure.
“The Miss Fisher brand is well-established around the world and Ms Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries retains all the much-loved elements of the original series whilst introducing a wonderfully engaging new lead character and new adventures set in a vibrant and exciting era”, said Caroline Stephenson, Senior Vice-President for EMEA North at All3Media International/
