Ron Perlman (Sons Of Anarchy, Hand Of God, StartUp) has joined the cast of The Capture, BBC One’s six episode surveillance thriller from Cyberbully and Blackout scribe Ben Chanan. Perlman joins previously announced series leads Callum Turner (War And Peace, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald) and Holliday Grainger (Strike, Cinderella). Production on the series is now underway in London.
The Capture is described as a surveillance thriller set in London, which begins with the unjust arrest of an innocent man and soon escalates into a multi-layered conspiracy of manipulated evidence. A spy show for the modern era, it asks – in an age where visual images can be drastically manipulated, yet criminal justice relies so heavily on video evidence – can you always believe what you see?
Rounding out the cast is Famke Janssen (Taken), Laura Haddock (Guardians Of The Galaxy), Ben Miles (The Crown), Lia Williams (Kiri), Sophia Brown (Marcella), Paul Ritter (Quantum Of Solace), Adelayo Adedayo (Some Girls), Ralph Ineson (Game Of Thrones), Cavan Clerkin (The Last Kingdom), Barry Ward (Save Me), Ginny Holder (Death In Paradise) and Nigel Lindsay (Victoria).
The six episode series hails from Heyday Television and NBCUniversal International Studios and is being penned and directed by Chanan. The executive producers are David Heyman, Rosie Alison and Tom Winchester for Heyday Television, Ben Irving for BBC One, Tom Coan for NBCUniversal International Studios and Ben Chanan. NBCUniversal International Distribution will handle global sales.
