The second season of Porters will premiere on UKTV’s Dave channel on Thursday March 14th at 10pm, it has been announced.
Porters follows Simon, who dreams of passing his medical exam and becoming a doctor – but by starting at the bottom, and becoming the best porter the NHS has ever seen. All he has to do is survive a few months grafting in a hospital basement and try not to kill any of the patients. The comedy series is produced by Dancing Ledge Productions and stars Ed Easton, Susan Wokoma, Claudia Jessie, Rutger Hauer, Daniel Mays, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Tanya Franks, Sinead Keenan and Siobhan McSweeney.
In the show’s second season, daydreaming porter Simon (Ed Easton) still thinks he can become a doctor by working his way up the hospital’s employment ladder, and win Nurse Lucy’s heart (Claudia Jessie) along the way. When Tillman (Rutger Hauer) decides to leave the country and visit the Dalai Lama, Anthony (Mays) is the experienced, fast-talking, wheeler-dealer who takes Simon under his wing, much to the disgust of self-styled ‘queen of the porters’ Frankie (Susan Wokoma).
