Windfall Films is making a number of changes to their senior management team. The Argonon owned indie’s founder David Dugan is stepping down as CEO and will now take on the role of Executive Chairman, Producer and Company Director Carlo Massarella will become CEO, and Executive Producer Dan Kendall will become Creative Director. Allison Todd will remain as Managing Director.

Duggan’s long list of producing credits include Mutiny, Inside Nature’s Giants, Your Inner Fish, Foxes Live: Wild In The City, The Placebo Experiment and Body Clock – What Makes Us Tick. In his new role as Executive Chairman, he will continue to guide the company’s growth and focus on the company’s flagship projects. He will remain as a director of the Argonon Group.

Carlo Massarella joined Windfall Films in 1996 and has devised and worked across a wide range of innovative and successful factual series and specials for British, North American and international broadcasters including BBC, PBS, Discovery and National Geographic Channels. As CEO, he will continue to spearhead Windfall’s international partnerships and co-productions to help further expand its range of ambitious content.

Dan Kendall is a more recent hire, having joined the indie in 2016. He has been a key figure in the company’s growth, helping create and produce returnable formats for US and international markets. In the UK, his current production slate includes shows for Channel 4 and BBC Two, and his remit is to help uphold Windfall’s long-standing reputation for original, distinctive programme-making.

The executive changes come as Windfall, which is part of the Argonon Group, is celebrating its most successful year since the company began over 30 years ago. “It’s a pleasure to be working with such a strong creative team, and I’m delighted with these promotions”, said Alison Todd, Managing Director of Windfall Films. “It has been an amazingly successful year for Windfall, and with these appointments we are well set for future growth.”

While James Burstall, CEO of the Argonon Group, added: “Windfall is celebrating its most successful year so far and it seems the perfect time to build and grow our management team. With these four talented individuals at the helm with enhanced roles, we are set for a vigorous and inventive new chapter.”
