StarzPlay has released the trailer and key art for the Starz original series Now Apocalypse, which is set to premiere on the streaming service on Sunday March 10th – day-and-date with Starz in the United States.
Now Apocalypse follows Ulysses who is struggling to figure out his life in the surreal and bewildering city of Los Angeles. He and his friends Carly, Ford and Severine, are on various quests pursing love, sex and fame. Between sexual and romantic dating app adventures, Ulysses grows increasingly troubled as foreboding premonitory dreams make him wonder – is some kind of dark and monstrous conspiracy going on, or is he just smoking too much weed?
The ten episode comedy series, which was created by Gregg Araki and Karley Sciortino, stars Avan Jogia (Tut, Twisted), Kelli Berglund (Lab Rats, Dolly Parton’s Christmas Of Many Colors), Beau Mirchoff (Awkward, The Fosters) and Roxane Mesquida (Kaboom, Gossip Girl). Araki directed all ten episodes and serves as an executive producer alongside Steven Soderbergh (Logan Lucky, The Laundromat) and Gregory Jacobs (The Laundromat, Magic Mike XXL). Now Apocalypse will make its world premiere as an Official Selection of the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.
StarzPlay, which originally launched in the UK last year on Amazon Prime Video Channels, recently expanded its distribution to the Virgin Media platform. It is envisioned as the UK home for the Starz brand, and holds exclusive UK rights to several of the premium cable networks original series including the Counterpart, Sweetbitter and Vida. The streaming service is also the exclusive UK home to Hulu’s Harlots, Audience’s Stephen King adaptation Mr. Mercedes and Hulu’s Stephen King adaptation Castle Rock. Future Lionsgate owned Starz original series will also be available exclusively on StarzPlay.
