Sky Atlantic Sets UK Premiere Date For ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 8

The eighth and final season of HBO’s flagship drama series Game Of Thrones will receive its UK premiere on Sky Atlantic on Monday April 15th at 2am, simulcast with the premium cable network’s east-coast feed. The season premiere will also be repeated later that same day in the show’s regular 9pm time-slot.

Based on the bestselling fantasy book series by George R.R. Martin, Game of Thrones chronicles an epic struggle for power in the vast and violent continent of Westeros, where summers and winters can last years, and only the lust for power is eternal. The series is a production of HBO Originals, with David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger and Bernadette Caulfield serving as executive producers.

Unsurprisingly, HBO has not released any plot details for the show’s six episode final season. Returning cast members include Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams. While the original series is coming to a close, there a several spin-offs in development. The one furthest along the development process is an untitled project from Jane Goldman and George R. R. Martin which chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend – it’s not the story we think we know.
