BET International Sets UK Premiere Date For ‘American Soul’

Soul Train drama American Soul will receive its UK premiere on BET International on Thursday February 7th at 10pm, it has been announced.

American Soul chronicles the struggle to make the dream of Soul Train come true. It is set in the early 1970’s and reveals what it took to launch the first nationally-syndicated Black music show and what happened when the music stopped. Battles with record labels for top talent, off-camera drama as young dancers vie for the spotlight, stand in the way of a 30-something Don Cornelius who is sacrificing all that he loves to follow his dream.

The ten episode drama series stars Sinqua Walls (Power, The Breaks), Kelly Price (Grammy®-nominated singer), Jason Dirden (Greenleaf), Iantha Richardson (This is Us), Katlyn Nichol, Jelani Winston, Christopher Jefferson. Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Bobby Brown, K. Michelle, Gabrielle Dennis and McKinley Freeman guest star. Devon Gregory and Jonathan Price are the co-creators and co-showrunners. Gregory and Price also serve as executive producers alongside Jesse Collins and Tony Cornelius.
