Channel 4 has released the trailer for their Brexit drama The Uncivil War, which is set to premiere on Monday January 7th at 9pm.
Brexit: The Uncivil War tells the story of the 2016 referendum campaign from the perspective of the largely unknown strategists in both the leave and remain camps as they plot to gain advantage over each other, while dealing with politicians jostling for the limelight and controversial financial backers.
The two-hour drama is produced by House Productions and stars Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) as Dominic Cummings, the lead strategist and Campaign Director of Vote Leave; and Rory Kinnear (Skyfall) as Craig Oliver, Prime Minister David Cameron’s Director of Communications, overseeing the Remain campaign’s communications strategy. Toby Haynes directed from a script by James Graham. It was originally commissioned for Channel 4 last May by then Head of Drama Beth Willis. HBO has since boarded as the U.S. broadcaster.
