First Images: Channel 4’s Spy Thriller ‘Traitors’

Channel 4 has released three first-look images from their new spy thriller Traitors, which is set to premiere in 2019.

Traitors (formerly known as Jerusalem) is set in London in 1945 and tell the story of story of Feef, who is seduced by a rogue American spy into spying on her own country. Her task? To uncover a Russian agent in the heart of the British Government.

The drama series is produced by 42 and Twenty Twenty Productions and stars Emma Appleton (Clique), Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard), Michael Stuhlbarg (The Looming Tower), Luke Treadaway (Unbroken), Brandon P. Bell (Dear White People), Stephen Campbell Moore (The Last Post) and Matt Lauria (Parenthood).

Traitors was originally commissioned last August by Channel 4’s former Head of Drama Beth Willis and Channel 4’s Head of International Drama Simon Maxwell for a six episode first season. Netflix has since boarded the project and will serve as the global broadcaster outside of the UK. The executive producers are Eleanor Moran, Rory Aitken, Emma Willis, Tim Carter and Bash Doran. Dearbhla Walsh and Alex Winckler are the directors.
