BBC One Releases Trailer For ‘Watership Down’

BBC One has released the trailer for their new Watership Down adaptation, which is set to premiere on Saturday December 22nd at 7pm and will conclude the following night (Sunday December 23rd) in the 7:20pm time-slot.

Watership Down is set in the idyllic rural landscape of southern England and follows a band of rabbits on their flight from the intrusion of man and the certain destruction of their home. Led by a stout-hearted pair of brothers, they journey forth from their native Sandleford Warren through the harrowing trials posed by predators and adversaries, towards a promised land and a more perfect society.

The four episode mini-series, which is based on Richard Adams’ novel, is produced by Biscuit Films and stars James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Sir Ben Kingsley, John Boyega, Gemma Arterton, Miles Jupp, Freddie Fox, Olivia Colman, Anne-Marie Duff, Daniel Kaluuya, Rosamund Pike, Peter Capaldi, Taron Egerton, Mackenzie Crook, Gemma Chan, Jason Watkins, Rory Kinnear, Craig Parkinson, Henry Goodman, Tom Wilkinson, Lee Ingleby, Charlotte Spencer and Daniel Rigby. Alan Short and Seamus Malone co-direct from scripts by Tom Bidwell. The executive producers are Rory Aitken, Josh Varney, Ben Pugh and Eleanor Moran for 42; Noam Murro for Biscuit Entertainment; Martin Rosen; and Ben Irving for BBC One.
