Netflix Sets UK Premiere Date For ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Season 2

The second season of Star Trek: Discovery will receive its UK premiere on Netflix UK on Friday January 18th, it has been announced.

New episodes will continue to be made available to Netflix UK subscribers every Friday, less than 24 hours after they initially stream state-side on CBS All Access.

Set ten years before the events of The Original Series, Star Trek: Discovery follows the voyages of Starfleet on their missions to discover new worlds and new lifeforms, and one Starfleet officer who must learn that to truly understand all things alien, you must first understand yourself. The drama series is produced by CBS Television Studios and stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Shazad Latif, Chris Obi, Mary Chieffo and Mary Wiseman.

Joining the cast for season two is Anson Mount (Hell On Wheels) as Christopher Pike, Captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise who assumes command of the Discovery; Rebecca Romijn as Number One, Pike’s executive officer on-board the Enterprise; and Ethan Peck as Spock, Burnham’s half-brother. Michelle Yeoh reprises her role as former Terra Emperor Philippa Georgiou, who has recently been recruited into Section 31.  Alex Kurtzman, Bryan Fuller, Heather Kadin, Gretchen J. Berg & Aaron Harberts, Akiva Goldsman, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth and James Duff serve as executive producers.
