The six episode first season of Dark Heart will premiere on ITV on Wednesday October 31st at 9pm, it has been announced.
From Unforgotten creator Chris Lang, Dark Heart follows DI Will Wagstaffe, a man haunted by the murder of his parents when he was 16 years old. Determined and tenacious, Wagstaffe is an exceptionally good police officer, in spite of the fact he’s been known for pushing the boundaries of what’s considered acceptable policing.
The drama series, which is based on Adam Creed’s Wagstaffe novels, is produced by Silverprint Pictures and stars Tom Riley, Charlotte Riley, Miranda Raison and Anjli Mohindra. Guest stars include Claire Goose, Alex Carter, Clare Foster and Paul Kaye. Dark Heart began its life on ITV Encore, as part of the pay channel’s push into originals, where it aired a two-hour movie/backdoor pilot. That initial pilot comprises the first two episodes of the first season.
