Sky’s production and distribution division Sky Vision is taking Curfew to MIPCOM in Cannes next month. Cast members Sean Bean, Phoebe Fox, Malachi Kirby and Billy Zane will all be in attendance on Monday 15th October to launch the street racing drama series to international buyers.
“Curfew is an absolute monster of a show and we think audiences everywhere are going to love strapping in for the ride of their lives”, said Jason Simms, Director of Drama and Comedy at Sky Vision. “With eye-popping stunts and scary as hell moments, Curfew promises to be a massive blast of fun, action and emotion, and we can’t wait to get off the start line!”
Curfew tells the story of ordinary people competing in the world’s fastest, most furious, illegal night-time street race. Desperate for their own reasons, the challengers risk everything as they race through the night from London to northernmost Scotland in their pimped-out, weaponised vehicles to win the ultimate prize — freedom from the totalitarian government curfew that controls their lives.
The drama series is produced by Tiger Aspect Productions in association with Moonage Pictures and stars Billy Zane, Miranda Richardson, Michael Biehn, Harriet Walter, Sean Bean, Adrian Lester, Phoebe Fox, Malachi Kirby, Robert Glenister, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Rose Williams, Elijah Rowen, Guz Khan and Adam Brody. It was created by writer Matthew Read, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Will Gould and Frith Tiplady. Peaky Blinders helmer Colm McCarthy is the director. The series was commissioned by Sky’s Head of Drama Anne Mensah, Sky One Director Adam MacDonald and Director of Programming for Sky UK & Ireland Zai Bennett.
