Jetpack Distribution is making a move into live-action.
The kids distributor has secured the exclusive worldwide international distribution rights to all three seasons of New Zealand based teen sci-fi drama The Cul de Sac. They will launch the series to international buyers at MIPCOM.
This marks the company’s first foray into live action as they look at offering programming targeting older children and teens. According to Jetpack, this new move will draw on contemporary audiences’ appetite for dystopian mysteries.
The Cul de Sac follows Rose, who wakes one day to find that the adults in her world have mysteriously vanished. She must then draw on all her courage to keep her siblings safe as dark forces begin to tear the world the grown-ups left behind apart. The drama series is produced by Greenstone TV and stars Greta Gregory, KJ Apa and Beulah Koale. Each of the three seasons consist of six episodes. The target audience is kids aged 9-16 and their families.
