BBC One Sets Premiere Date For ‘Still Open All Hours’ Season 5

The fifth season of Still Open All Hours will premiere on BBC One on Sunday October 7th at 8:30pm, it has been announced.

Still Open All Hours stars Sir David Jason as Granville who some years back inherited the shop from his beloved but miserly Uncle Arkwright. He now runs it with his son Leroy, a cheerful, good-looking lad with more female admirers than Granville ever had. The comedy series is produced by BBC Studios and stars Sir David Jason, James Baxter, Stephanie Cole, Maggie Ollerenshaw, Brigit Forsyth, Tim Healy, Johnny Vegas, Kulvinder Ghir, Sally Lindsay, Geoffrey Whitehead and Katie Redford.

This marks the first time that a new season has not launched as part of BBC One’s Christmas schedule. In the season premiere, Granville has a large quantity of bargain spectacles to sell, but will they really do anything to improve his customers’ eyesight? Meanwhile, encouraged by reading a self-help book “Take control of you”, Mr. Newbold decides to tell Mrs. Featherstone how he really feels about their relationship, Eric tries to persuade Kath to go on a camping holiday and what is in the large, heavy box that has arrived for Leroy?
