5Star Renews ‘Rich Kids Go Skint’ For Expanded Second Season, Hands Out Series Order To ‘Prison Life: Raw & Real’

5Star has renewed Rich Kids Go Skint for an expanded second season of twelve episodes. Additionally, Channel 5’s youth-skewing digi-net has handed out a two episode series order to Prison Life: Raw & Real.

Rich Kids Go Skint follows rich kids as they learn the biggest lesson of their lives when they go to live with some of Britain’s poorest people. The series is produced by Kalel Productions, with Nick Parnes serving as the executive producer. It was commissioned by Channel 5’s Commissioning Executive Sebastian Cardwell.

Prison Life: Raw & Real uses uniquely captured footage intercut with personal accounts by ex-convicts and former wardens. From how drugs get inside, to when fights and riots kick off, this is a no-holds barred visceral account of the secrets behind bars that only prisoners could know. The series is produced by Kalel Productions, with Nick Parnes serving as the executive producer. It was commissioned by Channel 5’s Commissioning Executive Sebastian Cardwell.

This marks Kalel’s latest commission from 5Star, after the channel recently orders World’s Wildest Holidays from the indie. “Rich Kids Go Skint really resonated with 5Star’s audience as they watched the kids discover a life they didn’t know existed – and also question the life they currently live”, said Kalel Productions CEO Nick Parnes. “We’re delighted to be producing another 12 episodes for the channel as well as Prison Life.”
