Channel 4 comedy series Lee & Dean has been picked up for a second season. The PSB has ordered six episodes for season two, which is set to air in 2019.
Lee & Dean is set in Stevenage and centres around builder best mates Lee and Dean. It’s a story of cheap builds, cheap lager, bark rubbing, break ups, and bad poetry, but at the heart of it lies the heart-warming bromance between Lee and Dean.
The comedy series is produced by Bingo Productions and stars Mark O’Sullivan and Miles Chapman, Anna Morris, Camille Ucan, Sam Underwood and Ricky Grover. The series was commissioned by Channel 4’s Head of Comedy Fiona McDermott and Channel 4’s Commissioning Editor Rachel Springett, Commissioning Editor at Channel 4.
“We’re thrilled to be diving back into the lives of Lee and Dean. Making the first series was a dream come true, and being given another is truly amazing”, series creators and stars Mark O’Sullivan and Miles Chapman said in a statement. “We can’t wait to continue the story – we promise there’ll be plenty of twists and surprises. And bark rubbing, of course.”
While Fiona McDermott, Head of Comedy at Channel 4, added: “I may not be prepared to hire Lee and Dean to do work on my house, but I am prepared to give them another run at this brilliant original comedy. We can’t wait to see where Mark, Miles and the Bingo team take the characters this time.”
