Fresh off of his turn co-hosting The Big Narstie Show, Channel 4 has ordered a new entertainment series which is set to be fronted by Mo Gilligan.
“I used to walk past Channel 4 on the way to school, now I’m extremely happy to have my very own show on a channel that pioneers original comedy”, Mo Gilligan said.
Few details are available about the new series, other than it will be built around Mo’s stand up, strands and sketches. It is being produced by Expectation (one of the two indies behind The Narstie Show) & Gilligan’s own company Momo G and will filmed in front of a studio audience. It is eyed for a 2019 launch in the 10pm slot. Ben Wicks is the executive producer.
“Mo has been incredible week in, week out as the co-presenter of The Big Narstie Show and our audiences love him”, said Ed Havard, Head of Entertainment at Channel 4. “We can’t wait to work together again on his own series which promises to be one of the highlights of next year.”
While Syeda Irtizaali, Commissioning Editor at Channel 4, added: “It was such a joy working with Mo on the first series of The Big Narstie Show. He’s a brilliant comedian and a total pro, we’re really excited to see what he brings to the table for his first solo outing.”
